The life

Prince Christian Victor Albert Louis Ernst Anton of Schleswig-Holstein was a member of the British royal family and the eldest son of Princess Helena, Queen Victoria's third daughter.

He was educated at Lambrook, Wellington College, Magdalen College, Oxford and the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, and became a British Army officer in the King's Royal Rifle Corps.

He served in India, West Africa, Sudan and the Second Boer War, and died of enteric fever in Pretoria in 1900.
