The life
John Logie Baird was a Scottish inventor, electrical engineer and entrepreneur associated with the early practical development of television.
He demonstrated moving silhouette images in 1925 and true television images in 1926, then helped develop early long-distance, transatlantic, colour and stereoscopic television demonstrations.
His mechanical system was later overtaken by electronic television, but he remained active in colour and three-dimensional television research until the 1940s.
