Anthony Leggett was a British-American theoretical physicist known for work in low-temperature physics, superfluidity and quantum foundations.
He held academic posts at Sussex and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and was recognized as a leader in the theory of superfluid helium liquids.
Leggett shared the 2003 Nobel Prize in Physics with Vitaly Ginzburg and Alexei Abrikosov.
