The life

John Maynard Keynes was a British economist, philosopher, civil servant and investor whose work transformed macroeconomic theory and policy. His ideas on aggregate demand, employment and government intervention became central to Keynesian economics.

Keynes advised the British government during both world wars, criticized the Treaty of Versailles, and helped shape the Bretton Woods system. His major books include The Economic Consequences of the Peace, A Treatise on Money and The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money.
